Following a recent visit to their animal sanctuary in Church Knowle, we are delighted and excited to announce Margaret Green Animal Rescue, who this year celebrate 50 years of caring for rescued animals, has become the official charity partner of the Mother Ukers.

Everyone knows we Love Cats. We think all animals are magic and want to do all we can to support the fantastic work of the staff and volunteers at Margaret Green Animal Rescue. Here’s a bit about what they do…

Established in 1965, Margaret Green Animal Rescue is the oldest and largest animal rescue charity founded in Dorset. Every year they care for over 1,200 animals, many of which have been abandoned, unwanted and ill-treated, and rehome them to loving owners.

With centres in Devon and Dorset they receive no government funding and rely heavily on support from the public to continue to carry out their work, and every penny donated to them goes directly towards animal welfare.

They firmly believe that having an animal in your life is not only a privilege but is hugely rewarding. They offer help and support to both people and their pets and you can help… by rehoming an animal, making a donation, coming to their visitor centres or becoming a volunteer.

Mother Ukers will be supporting Margaret Green Animal Rescue in many ways, including…

  • Donating a percentage from every sale of our merchandise to Margaret Green Animal Rescue
  • Playing at selected Margaret Green Animal Rescue events
  • Organising our own fundraising activity including a special event in May to celebrate their 50th year
  • Raising awareness at our live events, and online through our website and social media channels

Keep your eyes peeled and whiskers on alert for updates on our animal adventures. If the money we raise can lead to a few abandoned animals finding loving new homes, we’ll be happy bunnies!
